We are proud to announce we are the "Afinia UK & Overall Dealer of the Year for 2024"
The car cleaning / detailing industry is huge and only getting bigger so ensuring your product stands has never been more important. Before your customer try’s your product the first thing they see is the product label. So the trick is to have your label standout while still keeping the durability needed to survive when soaked, covered in chemicals or sat in sunlight. Producing high quality, full colour, short run labels for detailing products used to be tough. With the introduction of pigment inks and LED technology into label printers we now have a range of printer to support car detailers.
Your cleaning chemical label will need to look good but also last and remain legible for as long as the container is in use. Being resistant to UV exposure, water & chemicals is important so and choosing the right label material, label printer or print process is equally so.
Selecting the correct material and testing the adhesive will be vital. A polyproylene (PP) or polyethylene (PE) will be required, paper is not always suitable for chemical applications. A dye based ink will not provide a print durable enough for water / chemical applications so if considering an inkjet printer you will need to look at a pigment ink product or even LED label printers. You may also require an overlaminate.
If they are being applied automatically then the orientation, label gap size and thickness of label will need to the checked.
HD Labels offer a wide range of materials suitable for chemical labelling and can supply free samples for testing prior to ordering. We’d always recommend that you apply sample labels to the containers that you intend to use prior to ordering any labels to check size, durability and adhesive strength.
We also have a range of label applicators from hand applicators to semi automatic bottle applicators to fully automated “print & apply” applicators. See our label applicators
Digital printing can offer a cost effective solution for short run printed labels. Reasons for customers preferring this to having labels printed for them include:
HD Labels have several pigment based printers suitable for producing durable, vibrant labels. These include the Epson C3500, Afinia L-501, Epson C7500 Primera LX-1000e and LX-2000e. For those needing higher volumes the OKI Pro 1040 & OKI Pro 1050 LED Printers are as good as it gets.
These are often accompanied by a label applicator such as the Bottle matic or Primera AP-360.
Our team would be very happy to discuss your specific requirements and offer advice on the suitability of any of our solutions for your needs.
