Label Expo Europe 2019 Round Up

So Label Expo is coming to a close today and we thought we’d look back at some of the interesting & new things we spotted during the last few days.

New products

Afinia Label

Afinia had a range of new label printing solutions on their stand as well as some all new packaging printing options. Printing bespoke bags, packs & packaging in short run volumes on demand is something we have many requests for and Afinia have responded. Watch this space for a lot more info on packing printers.

They also showed the Afinia LT5C (LED Toner 5 Colour) Label printer. Their version of the OKI Pro 1050 which should be available soon. Offering all of the same features as the OKI Pro 1050 but with the added value that Afinia bring to the support / service side of things. The Afinia LT5C & OKI Pro 1050 will both be available from HD Labels.

Afinia also had a new UV coater for labels as well as the update to the already great Afinia L501. The Afinia L502 offers the same stats as the L501 but with a more rugged, metal casing to cope with more testing environments.

DTM Print / Primera

DTM Print (formerly Primera) had the new LX610 label proofing machine on display. The video below shows the LX610 printing onto continuous label material and then taking the material back in and cutting out the labels using a small plotter knife. This is aimed at those needing to protype or produce very small quantities of unique labels.

Epson Label

Epson news was all about the release of the new C6000 Series label printers. These are 4 and 8 Inch wide, colour inkjet label printers to sit in between the C3500 and C7500 in their range. Both are full colour with durable pigment inks. Check out the video below to see them in action.

Godex Label

Godex had a huge range of thermal & direct thermal solutions on show. From label, to ribbon to tag printers they seem to have the thermal print range covered. Their new test tube printer was especially impressive. The thing with Godex is that the accessories available with their printers is what separate’s them. We especially liked their automated box & bottle application systems. Print on demand and apply using semi of full automation. With various cutters, rewinders & numerous input devices we were impressed. Number plate printing too!
