Primera announce that the new LX3000e “Big Ink” colour label printer should be available from July 2021 and should be available for pre-order any time now.
What’s new with the Primera LX3000e?
BIG INK – This is the real difference between new LX3000e and the popular LX910e. Each CMY ink tank will now hold 60ml of ink. Pre-primed, reusable print heads have another 42ml of ink for a total of 222ml of “out of the box” ink. Both dye & pigment ink models are available and replacement inks are still easy to replace and will self prime.
NEW INK – !The LX3000e uses all new dye and pigment inks that have been optimised for brightness, durability as well as optical density. The process black has a very high optical density for the blackest blacks ever released by Primera in a CMY printer. Process blacks have many advantages for labels over the carbon black inks used by other colour label printers, including better water resistance, compatibility with a broader range of materials and improved resistance to smearing.
Who is the LX3000e aimed at?
The LX3000e is aimed at users that need to print up to 7500 labels per day depending on the size and ink coverage. It has fairly low operating costs with the larger ink tanks and having a more rugged, powder coated steel cover & frame helps protect the printer in the production environment.
If you’re printing low to medium volume labels for either cosmetics, chemical, GHS, medical, retail ……..etc (the list really does go on) then the LX3000 might be a good place to start. Having pigment inks gives you added durability but still a great looking, full colour print.
Is the LX3000e both Windows & MAC Compatible?
One thing about Primera is that they usually support MAC which is rare with label printers. There is a MAC OS driver coming in Q3 2021 so for now at the point of release it’s only Windows 7, 8 & 10 compatible.
What connectivity does the LX3000e come with?
You can either connect to the printer via USB 2.0 or Ethernet. Wireless is also available with the addition of a ethernet to wireless adapter. Primera has a list of tested and recommended adapters to ask for more details.
What resolution & print width can the LX3000e print?
The Primera LX3000e looks great at 1200dpi but can print up to a maximum of 1200 x 4800 dpi. It takes up to 8 inch wide material and can print labels up to 24 inches long. It’s max print speed is up to 4.5″ (114mm) per second but this is on the lowest / fastest setting. We recommend you talk to the team for your “real world” speeds.
Does the Primera LX3000e come with any software?
The printer drivers are all available online. The LX3000e comes with a free copy of of Bartender Basic which is a great label builder package.
